Shaded Japanese tea field before harvest
AIYA Europe + KISSA  /  Brand Partner

The world of Matcha

Japan's largest Matcha producer brings its B2B range and its Vienna-born retail brand to Berlin, with a Matcha and latte tasting running across all three days.

The partnership

Two brands,
one leaf

AIYA has been grinding Matcha in Japan since 1888. KISSA was founded in Vienna in 2015 and is part of the AIYA Europe Group. One supplies the industry, the other shows what the category looks like on shelf and on menu. Both run on the same tea.

01
Scale with provenance

Japan's largest Matcha producer, supplying bulk powder to food and beverage manufacturers and private label brands across Europe.

02
Built for service

Premixes that need no barista training, no dosing judgement and no specialist kit, so Matcha works on a busy bar.

03
Tested and certified

Teas screened by Eurofins for pesticides and radioactivity, multi-certified, additive-free and packaged to a high standard.

The green gold

Not a trend.
An 800-year-old habit.

Buddhist monks have been drinking Matcha for more than eight centuries. It is still the only tea consumed in concentrated form: the whole leaf, ground to powder and whisked into water rather than steeped and thrown away.

Only a few dozen growers master the full production process, which is why the finest grades stay rare and why the category rewards knowing exactly who made your powder.

Why Matcha costs
what it costs

Five stages separate a tea field from a bowl of Matcha. Each one is slow, and none of them can be skipped. It is the reason a genuine ceremonial grade and a commodity green powder are not the same product.

Shade
01
Shade

Fields are covered for weeks before harvest. Starved of light, the leaf builds chlorophyll and amino acids, which is where the deep colour and the sweetness come from.

Pick
02
Pick

Only the youngest, softest leaves are taken, by hand where the grade demands it.

Steam
03
Steam

Leaves are steamed within hours of picking to halt oxidation and lock the green in place.

Dry
04
Dry

The leaf is dried and de-stemmed to produce tencha, the raw material every Matcha begins as.

Grind
05
Grind

Granite wheels turn slowly and cannot be hurried. Heat would spoil the powder, so the stone sets the pace.

AIYA Europe  /  B2B

Matcha, built
into your menu

AIYA Europe supplies high-quality Matcha in bulk to food and beverage manufacturers and private label brands, and in practical formats for cafés, restaurants and hotels. Whether you are developing a product or serving Matcha to guests, the range covers both ends.

The premixes

The focus for foodservice. One scoop, milk, froth, serve. No whisk, no sieve, no dosing judgement and no barista training, which makes Matcha workable on a busy bar rather than a specials-board novelty.

And the pure powder, by grade

For operators who want to work with the powder itself, AIYA will show its full range of Matcha grades alongside mildly roasted Hojicha. Colour is the first tell: the greener and finer the powder, the higher the grade and the more delicate the flavour.

Bring your application and the team can point you at the right grade for it, whether that is a bakery line, a bottled drink or a signature latte.

Matcha Sticks
Matcha Sticks
Single-serve

Portion control, zero waste.

Matcha Sticks
Pure, No Added Sugar and Vanilla

Single-serve sticks are the simplest way to put Matcha on a menu, in a room service tray or in a grab-and-go format. Each stick is one drink, which removes dosing entirely and keeps the powder sealed from light and air until the moment it is used.

In the range
  • Pure Matcha Sticks
  • Matcha Latte No Added Sugar Sticks
  • Vanilla Matcha Latte Sticks
  • One stick, one drink, no measuring
  • Sealed until use, which protects the powder

KISSA promotes cultivation methods that minimise the use of chemicals and support biodiversity. Sustainable packaging is harder: Matcha is sensitive to light, air and moisture, so the work to find more environmentally friendly solutions is still ongoing.

The Matcha and latte tasting

Across all three days, AIYA Europe and KISSA will be serving Matcha and lattes prepared the way an operator would actually make them, not the way a photograph suggests.

Taste the difference between grades side by side, try a premix at service speed, and talk through what a Matcha line would look like on your own menu.

  • Grades poured side by side, so the difference is tasted rather than described
  • Premixes made at service speed, start to finish
  • Hot and iced builds, with dairy and plant alternatives

THE COFFEE SHOP
OF THE FUTURE

Hosted by SEB Professional

Welcome to
COHO Expo 2026

COHO was built to solve the problem with traditional trade shows.

Large exhibition halls. Endless aisles of stands. Thousands of people moving through environments that prioritise scale over interaction.

Scale over substance. Too many people. Not enough decisions.

COHO was designed differently.

Hosted at the JW Marriott Berlin alongside the European Coffee Symposium, the platform brings together 2,500 decision makers representing more than €6BN in purchasing power in a curated environment built for focused commercial interaction.

Our objective is simple:

To help buyers move from conversation to commercial confidence.

COHO delivers engagement, not chance.
