For more than 20 years Market Grounds has championed innovation.
With a steadily growing and diverse collection of exciting F&B offerings, the Hamburg based HoReCa experts have been active far beyond the borders of their home city.
The company, that boasts a trio of well-loved and established brands, will be serving up hand-cooked potato crisps from John & John, extraordinary teas from Teahouse Exclusives, and speciality drinks from One&Only at this year’s Europe & Middle East Coffee Symposium, alongside some exciting new-to-market products.
Most recently, Market Grounds officially launched two global innovations for the HoReCa industry: A protein smoothie with banana, coconut and cocoa, as well as a 100% dairy free, plant-based liquid frappé with One&Only.
Commenting on the new additions André Bordes, product development manager, One&Only said: “We’re delighted to be bringing this innovative portfolio of drinks to EMCS this year – most of which are vegan, gluten free and without artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. There’s a growing trend for consumers to seek out dairy and lactose free products, as well as vegetable proteins, as they make healthier and more ethically fuelled choices. These drinks are the perfect addition to any coffee shop menu or retailer offering and we can’t wait to share them.”
New launches and presented drinks from One & Only at Europe & Middle East Coffee Symposium include:
• Banana Coconut Cocoa Protein Smoothie
• 100% Dairy free Liquid Frappé
• 100% Fruit and Vegetable Smoothies (carrot & apple flavour)
• Unicorn pink and blue matcha
To complete the collection of brand-new products to be showcased at The Europe & Middle East Coffee Symposium Teahouse Exclusives will showcase new concept teas exclusively for the event.
“The wellness trend continues to grow within the hot beverage sector and consumers are not only seeking out key ingredients within their teas – think “superfoods” and sugar-free alternatives – but they are taking the time to relax and enjoy them. This is a huge opportunity for the coffee shop market to serve more customers”, says Teahouse Exclusives product development manager Kathrin Link.
In fact, Project Tea UK 2019 (World Coffee Portal’s annual analysis of the UK’s opportune yet challenging out-of-home tea segment) revealed that tea out of home sales in the UK alone were £302m in 2018, and forecasts to reach £329m for the year 2019, representing annual growth of 8.9%.
Commenting on the report findings, Allegra Founder and CEO Jeffrey Young said:
“Tea is yet another category of the UK hospitality that is seeing a shift toward premiumisation. Premium teas provide further opportunities for foodservice operators to increase average spend and increase the breadth of their customer base. However, they to need to communicate value-add by inspiring and educating customers on the true benefits of premium tea.”
Several innovative recipes with additional infusing super-ingredients – such as rosemary and turmeric – as well as a newly developed tea using hemp will be presented for the first time at the EMCS 2019 in Dubai.
