The European Coffee Awards are the most prestigious awards in the European Coffee and Food to Go sector. Now in their 12th year the awards will also encompass companies from the Middle East in order to recognise and promote company and individual excellence.
European Coffee Award winners are selected in a 2-stage process that is designed to be as fair and transparent as possible. Firstly, companies are shortlisted based on research from Allegra Strategies and feedback from more than 100 industry experts. Once the shortlist has been finalised, industry experts from across Europe are invited to vote for the shortlisted candidates within their respective geographies, and the winners are selected from those scoring the highest number of votes in each category.

The 2018 European Coffee Award Winners were announced during a black-tie Gala Dinner event sponsored by Lavazza, which took place as part of Allegra’s European Coffee Symposium at the 5* Melia Milano in the evening on Thursday 29 November. Lavazza opened the night with a speech from Giuseppe Lavazza and Mr. Ferran Adrià who introduced the multimedia project founded by Lavazza and the elBulli foundation: Coffee Sapiens – Innovation Through Understanding.
